Overseas helpers · direct hire

First-time helpers from the Philippines / Indonesia, handled end-to-end by our licensed agency partner

✈️

What is direct hire

The helper applies from her home country — suited to families with time who want to train a helper from scratch.

🏛️

Handled by a licensed agency

Overseas recruitment must go through a licensed employment agency: matching, video interviews, visa, medical, flights and arrival.

Time & cost

Typically a 2–3 month wait. Full-service market reference: HKD 9,000–17,000 — subject to the licensed partner's quotation.

FAQ

Clear answers before you pay

Are you an employment agency?

No. The local-helper section only displays information: we do not match, arrange interviews, process paperwork, or charge on a successful-placement basis — employers pay a one-off info fee to view contact details. Overseas direct hire is provided and charged by our licensed agency partner; this platform only provides the referral link.

What does the info fee include?

Unlimited browsing and access to all listed helpers' phone / WhatsApp for 14 or 28 days, so you can reach out directly. Interviews, terms and follow-up arrangements are entirely between you and the helper.

What paperwork is involved in hiring?

Hiring a helper involves visa, contract and medical arrangements. Immigration Department forms are free and a hotline is available for guidance; assistance services are also available on the market if you prefer.

Are the profiles real?

Profiles are submitted by the helpers themselves and are not verified by us. So do your own due diligence: interview, check IDs, call previous employers. That's not a flaw — it's the part you take on in exchange for saving thousands of dollars.

Helper basics

What every employer should know before hiring

💰

Minimum Allowable Wage

HK$5,100 per month (contracts signed on or after 30 Sep 2025). Underpaying is against the law.

🍚

Food or allowance

Provide free food, or a monthly food allowance of at least HK$1,236.

🏠

Living-in & duties

The helper must live and work at the employer's address stated in the contract, with suitable accommodation and reasonable privacy.

📋

Employer eligibility

Household income of at least HK$15,000 per month, or assets of comparable amount.

📄

Standard contract

The Standard Employment Contract (ID 407) runs for two years, with no probation period.

🌴

Rest days & holidays

Weekly rest days, statutory holidays, plus paid annual leave of 7–14 days (rising with years of service).

🏥

Free medical care

If the helper falls ill or is injured during employment, the employer must provide free medical treatment.

✉️

Terminating a contract

One month's written notice or payment in lieu, and notify the Immigration Department within 7 days.

🧮

Severance / long service payment

Severance pay after 24 months if dismissed by redundancy; long service payment after 5 years if dismissed or not renewed. Formula: (monthly wage × 2/3) × years of service, wage capped at HK$22,500. Neither applies if the helper resigns.

🛡️ Helper insurance — required by law

Under the Employees' Compensation Ordinance, employers must take out employees' compensation insurance for their helper — the maximum penalty is a HK$100,000 fine and 2 years' imprisonment. Comprehensive helper insurance plans typically also cover medical, dental and repatriation expenses, from a few hundred dollars a year.

Please apply via the link above. Refer to the Labour Department and the insurer for the latest details.
